One Piece Little Bobble Top by Knit Purr

Little Bobble Top

Instructions below the cut!

I’m such a terrible pattern writer, so I will try to write this pattern as detailed as possible, for people (like me) who can only follow ‘Written For Dummies’ patterns. I hope the pattern makes sense, if it doesn’t, please feel free to contact me at knitpurr@gmail.com, or Flickr mail me (knit_purr).

You will need:
4ply/sock/fingering weight yarn, a pair of 2mm knitting needles, 2 snap fasteners, 4 stitch markers (or anything you can make a mark between stitches)

Cast on 31 sts, rib one row.

With stitch markers, divide your stitches as below:
(from the 1st st of next row) 6 sts (right back), 5 sts (right sleeve), 10 sts (front), 5 sts (left sleeve), 5 sts (left back)

Continue in st sts, start with a K row.

In every K row: repeat (knit to stitch marker, yo, K1, yo) 4 times, then K to end
In every P row: K2, P to last st, K3

Continue until you have got 16 sts for front (the middle sector), ending with a K row.

Next row: K2, P6, rib 11 sts, P16, rib 11 sts, P6, K3
Next row: K9, cast off 11sts (right sleeve) in rib, K15 (you now have 16 sts on the right needle for the middle sector), cast off 11sts (left sleeve) in rib, K7 (you now have 8 sts on the right needle for the 3rd piece)

The 3 pieces on your right needle should be 9 sts (right back), 16 sts (front) and 8 sts (left back).

Next row: K2, P28, K3. (Pull yarn tight between two pieces to avoid holes.)

Now we will start bobble pattern:

Row 1 (right side): K3, P to last 2 sts, K2
Row 2 : K2, * (K1, P1, K1) into next st, P3tog, repeat from * to last 3 sts, K3
Row 3: as row 1
Row 4: K2, * P3tog, (K1, P1, K1) into next st, repeat from * to last 3 sts, K3

Repeat the above 4 rows ONCE MORE.

Next row: K3, P to last 2 sts, K2.

Rib 2 row.

Next row: Cast off in rib.

Wave in ends. Right back is one sitch wider than the left back piece, that’s for you to sew snap fasteners on.
